Individualism

1.  There are many things that American find to be rude or inappropiate to talk about. One subject that is sketchy is sex. Many people do not find it comfortable to dicuss thier sex life with other and  find it to be anybodys business.  Another topic that the average American doesnt like to talk about is wealth. To ask somebody how much money they make or to discuss thier finances can be seen as nosey and rude also. Lastly i know for a fact that most Amercian find that talking about bathroom humor and things of that source to be disguisting and to be a big “no no”. Sure alot of us think its funny but thier is a time and place for everything

2.  I couldnt open up the reading for some reason but i would think that that would take alot more care of their elderly than we do. As Americans our retirement is so late and that is if we even have retirement in the future. In this country it is rough to be elderly i believe. Some still have to work and dont have the financial support that they should

3. I think the things that shows my individualism would be the way that I talk. People from other culters probably get so confused because we speak a language completly different than english. They always find it strange when i wip out my slang. like i got a mad crazy vocab that yinz just dont get . Errday when i see my friends i just say “whats good cuz?” or “sup pimpin”. I also throw in random similies or mediphors that other culters take literally.  I just think other culters expect us all to be proper and im so misunderstood when i speak. Word….

1. The biggest thing  i would find that an international student would find different about IUP how people look. Im by no means saying that everybody looks absolutly ugly but they are no movie star either. Also many movies portray America to be a place of just dropping whatever your doing and goin on some crazy adventure. However that is not the case becuase we are always working or doin something important and hve to keep up with our priorites. Movies portray everything different because they are ment to be exiting for us to watch. If it wasnt something out of the ordinary then nobody would be interested in seeing the movie

2.  It showed us that we as americans are always on a schedule. We are always constintaly checkin the time because we are rushing to get one activity done so we can start a new one.  We as american view time like this because we are always busy and got somthing to do.

3. It is quite obvious that Americans to not like to be interrupted. When i am telling a story or talkin in general i do this because i want my voice to be herd. When somebody else busts in my story mid convo i tend to get mad and look at them like “what the heck?”  People just like to have the attention on them when they are speakin because they want their voice to be herd.

4. “In the United States, it is extremly important to extend the same courtious and respect  to all individuals regardless race, gender, ethnicity, national origion, or sexual orientaion.” <–  This sentence stuck out to me the most due the the behalf of this is what America supposidly stands for. Its supposed to be a big melting pot of equality and we all know that is not the case. Not everybody is treated equally and i find them these internaiton student would have a rude awakening after reading this if that is their expectaions…
